one of my absolute favorite quotes from a spectacular book, The Alchemist, "and, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” Paolo Coelho. i have never really known what i truly wanted. but i am learning to listen more to the universe, God, and the inner child inside of me rather than make hasty decisions and decide what i want based off of pure emotion in the moment. i am having more faith in myself and the power in the now. we have no power in changing the past and no idea what will happen in the future. so why not spend our time in the part that counts, the now?

to me mindfulness means being in the moment. yoga and breathing has really helped me pause and just take a deep breath in to truly experience every moment and what they are worth. i realize that moments are just moments and they are fleeting. however, taking a moment to pause and just breath like when i hug my mom, or i am spending time with my best friend, or i read something really inspiring. i am trying to be more mindful by simply taking a deep breath in and enjoying the moment for every single ounce that it is worth.

being mindful has really helped me in reflection and memory of past moments. i am known for having a pretty terrible memory, however, when i take time to truly capture each moment for what it's worth. mindfulness is something that i hope to sincerely stick to this year!
